"I love to paint the landscape and
the animals who live there. Trying to capture the spirit of an animal or the
beauty of nature is both challenging and totally enjoyable. Expressing my inner
vision on paper or canvas takes every bit of my attention, experience and
creativity. There is nothing better than the experience of painting something so
compelling except knowing that I get to do it again tomorrow!"
Every day, Chris and best friends Nubby and Freckles walk across
the driveway to the studio/gallery that Chris shares with her bunny
Thumper. There, she often has a number of paintings in progress in oil or
pastel. It is the perfect place to try different techniques, work on larger
paintings or to set up a still life.
Most of the year,
Chris works en plein air, taking her paint box and easel to different
locations around Evergreen and traveling to plein air events. During the cold
days of winter you may find her working in the studio with her furry friends for
company.
Chris is a member of PAAC, Plein Air
Artists of Colorado. Every Tuesday the PAAC group paints at a different location
in the greater Denver area up into the Foothills. You never know what you'll
find at these locations, so it is always a stretch to paint something new!
Chris is also a member of
The Pastel Society of Colorado, Evergreen Artists Association and Center for the
Arts Evergreen. You can see work at Gallery at Genesee and starting in January,
at the Colorado Mountain Arts Gallery in Georgetown, CO.
